Digital Storytelling Previs and Prototyping

Library Resource and Bulletin Mood Board:

Within this class my specific focus is Step 7. This stage represents the hero’s shift in perspective and strategy. Setbacks and inevitable; a student might struggle, face hurdles, or deal with personal challenges. This stage compels the student to adapt. This is where true resilience and resourcefulness are made.

Prototype:

I haven’t really been on Second Life this far, so I have been creating sketch ups of said objects, PreVis, and prototypes to help the story along. The library resource is where the hero can gain or leave knowledge to help find the way and the collection board can be supportive and encouraging.

Types of Creativity:

Cognitive: For functionality I feel as if this type of creativity is key. I can use it to design/create how users access information, search for specific knowledge, and contribute their own insights within the resource library and board.

Emotional: When considering the experience of using these objects I want to incorporate them with elements that resonate emotionally with a hero facing trials. Sticking to visual designs, motivational content, personalization, and building a community. Creating an impact for themselves and anyone that follows behind them

Deliberate: Functionality and the workings. Will the library initially seem comprehensive but lack specific information the hero desperately needs. Leading them to contribute new knowledge to overcome such challenges, pointing towards a collaborative problem-solving. Will the board include prompts that encourage users to share. This type can help me create the back bone of each item

Spontaneous: Creating a place where the hero can find a meaningful entry in the resource library and resonate with the hero who left it, and a safe place to use their authentic voice on the bulletin board. Personal experiences and impactful messages.

Keys to Success:

I went over my key choices and realized I didn’t read as thoroughly through everyone’s posts and ended up matching with others. So I chose new ones: Adaptability and Accept failure
I chose these keys because when trying to better your future in school you will come across many challenges that you will fail and to move on you have to accept the failure and adapt.

For the scavenger hunt these keys could be near resources that can help for success, such as the information technology, student services, or the library

J.E.D.I Map and Connections:

J.E.D.I Social and Relational is about building and maintaining healthy relationships with others. it includes spending time with friends and family, developing a support group, and fostering a sense of community and belonging.
