Since becoming a parent, I don’t get around to playing games as much anymore. This isn’t a post about how becoming a parent was my downfall though, but about how it adds extra “ten years” to my own life.
I found we go out of our way to connect and enjoy our time together and though I dont play as much anymore, the older my kids got the more they enjoyed what I enjoyed. We have long conversations about adventures they had, that I went on at their age. It’s such an amazing experience.
After watching these videos, I can see the dedication that goes into these games. Their own life stories, hardships, and celebrations are all portrayed in within this stunning digital world.
This video has given me a new perspective on video games. Now, playing video games aren’t judged in my household but the way she talks about how video games (now days) can be a source of connection really intrigued me. What a beautiful way to show how games can be both healing and inspirational.
I haven’t heard of JourneyTM before, though this video has made me very interested to try. The dedication by the makers of this game is motivating. They truly reached for the summit to make this game what it is and thats what makes it amazing.
Ive always been more of a book worm than a gamer but on this rainy morning I gave a new video game a try. With the push of my loving family, I sat down and tried Animal Crossing: New Horizons. I navigated the unfamiliar controls, it was kind of exciting to try something new. My character stepped onto her own deserted Island and I was immediately charmed by the colorful graphics and gentle music. The simple tasks of fishing, bug catching, and decorating my characters home was surprising therapeutic. I got lost in the peaceful world of friendships and interesting animal neighbors. It was a fun surprise and Im excited of this new experience/adventure my family can connect with.
I found this infographic very interesting. Given that the first video goes off of “health benefits” while playing video games.
